WAVY Announces Anchor Changes and New Newscast

Portsmouth, Va., NBC affiliate WAVY announced a few anchor changes, an anchor addition and a new show today.

anita-tomAnita Blanton joins anchor Tom Schaad at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. on WAVY. She’ll also work with him at 10 p.m. on Fox affiliate WVBT.

brandi-ashleyBrandi Cummings moves to weekend evening anchor. She’ll anchor the 6 and 11 p.m. newscast on WAVY and the 10 p.m. on FOX43. She’ll continue to report during the week.

WAVY is also launching a 7 p.m. newscast on WVBT. The new 30 minute show show will be anchored by Deanna LeBlanc and Laura Caso. Caso will replace Anita Blanton as Stephanie Harris‘ co-anchor at 4 and 5:30 p.m.

LeBlanc was the weekend evening anchor and the 10 On Your Side reporter. Caso comes from First Coast News in Jacksonville, Fla.
