WABC Plans New Street-Level Studio

By Andrew Gauthier

WABC is set to open up its newscasts to the streets of Manhattan.  The ABC flagship is currently working on a brand-new street-level studio that would include large windows onto the sidewalks of New York’s upper west side.

Construction is expected to start soon, according to the Daily News.

The new set will occupy a space, which previously housed a Disney store, located down the block from WABC’s current studio.

The station hopes to have the new studio ready this summer and plans to eventually broadcast all of its newscasts from the street-level set.
