Over the weekend, the NBC affiliate’s Chopper 10 pilot, Steve Decker, died in a motorcycle accident.
“He could tell you about every blade, bolt, and bearing that made our helicopter a formidable presence in the skies over Hampton Roads,” according to a story on the Nexstar owned website.
The station broke the story on the 6pm newscast Monday.

They also teased a series of stories surrounding his work for the station over the course of 17 years.
