A veteran WDSU reporter and a former FBI agent are credited with helping foil an armed robbery at a St. Bernard Parish restaurant.
The robbers got away, but without the $7,000 they tried to take from the restaurant, police said.
It happened Saturday morning at the Gold Star Restaurant. The doors had just opened, but the security cameras were already running when WDSU I-Team reporter Richard Angelico and former FBI agent John Fleming walked in. They were accompanied by two other people.
There was no one in the front of the restaurant, so Fleming walked to the back in search of an employee. That’s when, he said, he interrupted a robbery in progress. More…
