Veteran Minneapolis Reporter Died From Internal Bleeding

Veteran WCCO-TV reporter Darcy Pohland died from a ruptured artery related to a stomach ulcer, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner said. Her death was ruled natural.

Pohland, 48, died in her sleep March 5 from “gastrointestinal hemorrhage due to an eroded splenic artery and gastric ulcer,” the medical examiner said.

She hadn’t been feeling well in the few days before she died, but because she was paralyzed in a 1983 diving accident, she couldn’t feel the pain in her stomach. More…
