By Kevin Eck

Kathy Walsh is retiring from KCNC in Denver after 37 years with the CBS-owned station.

Walsh is presently the weekend anchor and health specialist at the Denver station, and has had a long career in the industry. Her first TV job was at WVII in Bangor, Maine. She’s also worked as a reporter at WSMV in Nashville, Tenn. and at WXYZ in Detroit.

Walsh started working at KCNC in 1984.

“My plan was to pick a place where I’d like to live and give TV news one last shot,” Walsh told the station in an interview about her career. “If it didn’t work out, I’d try something else. I’ve lasted 36 years, five months and 10 days at CBS4 Denver. I guess it worked out.”

Her last day will be on May 30.
