Veteran Chicago Journalist Bullish on the News

Newspapers and network TV news are still the most unbiased sources for information overall, but the future of news isn’t particularly hopeful, at least for the moment, legendary Chicago newsman Walter Jacobson believes.

Jacobson assured the audience during Indiana University Northwest’s 2010 Business Speakers Series Luncheon at the Radisson Hotel Star Plaza Thursday afternoon that newspeople are still battling it out over the types of news that reaches the public.

For the most part, those efforts result in fair and balanced news, even if the actual topics reaching the public are “dumbed down.” More…
