Veteran Anchor Randy Meier Lands Gig in WCBS Shuffle

By Andrew Gauthier

Randy Meier, late of KSTP and MSNBC, is returning to the airwaves in New York City–at least for a week. Meier, was a daytime anchor at MSNBC for 3 years, from 2003-2006. He joined the network from KSTP-TV where he was main anchor.

Viewers have not seen much of Meier since, but TVSpy has learned he’ll be filling in on WCBS-TV in New York the week between Christmas and New Years.

The Emmy and Murrow award-winning reporter and anchor will be co-anchoring with Dana Tyler on the 6 & 11 newscasts as WCBS begins its own revolving door. Tonight is Chris Wragge‘s final night as an anchor on the station as he begins a coast-to-coast publicity tour before taking over as co-anchor of CBS’s “The Early Show” January 3. Maurice Dubois moves from early mornings to main co-anchor at WCBS alongside Kristine Johnson.
