Veteran Anchor Lisa Adams Named News Director at Erie’s WICU-WSEE

Veteran anchor Lisa Adams has been named news director at WICUWSEE, the Lilly Broadcasting-owned duopoly in Erie, PA. The promotion was announced in a staff meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s an exciting turn of events,” Adams told TVSpy about the move.

Adams has been with WICU for 32 years. She began with the station as a control room director in 1978 and eventually transitioned to a role in front of the camera, as a reporter and anchor. She will continue to anchor the Sunday evening newscasts for WICU and WSEE.

While her everyday responsibilities have changed with the new title, Adams says that the transition will be “pretty seamless.”

“I’ve always been a mentor to the younger reporters and anchors,” she told TVSpy. “Through the years I’ve worked with them as a peer coach and that’s something that I will continue to do.”

Adams succeeds Julie Eisenman, who left the station last month. In addition to leading the newsroom of WICU and WSEE, Adams will oversee news gathering for Lilly’s Erie CW-affiliate and its One Caribbean News and Weather operation.
