Univision President-COO Set to Retire

Univision Communications Inc.’s president and chief operating officer, Ray Rodriguez, plans to retire at the end of the year from the Spanish-language media company.

Despite strong audience growth, the company has posted a string of losses in recent years and has been scrambling to reduce its $10 billion debt load, much of it from its 2007 leveraged buyout by a group of private-equity firms.

In other management shifts, Executive Vice President and Strategy Officer Cesar Conde will become president of Univision Networks effective Oct. 1. Univision Communications Chief Executive Joe Uva will assume the additional role of president. More…
