Ukee Washington Set to Mark 25 Years with KYW

Philadelphia’s KYW is preparing to celebrate anchor Ukee Washington’s impressive 25-year tenure with the station. May 25th marks Washington’s quarter century with the station.

“Ukee is one of those rare newscasters that does everything well,” says Susan Schiller, KYW’s news director. “Whether it’s hosting a town hall meeting on the future of public education or joining a top chef for an in-studio cooking segment, Ukee brings the totality of his experience as the ultimate hometown anchor to the table.”

Born in West Philadelphia, Washington joined the CBS O&O in 1986 as a sports anchor. Ten years later he transitioned to news anchor of KYW’s morning and noon newscasts.
