Twitter Unveils New, Search-Based Homepage

Twitter, the popular social media platform devoted to 140-character bits of information, unveiled a new homepage on Tuesday evening. Besides a sleeker design and slight alteration to its brand identity, the new homepage also boasts several ways to navigate and search the site’s ever-growing universe of tweets.

The homepage redesign represents a notable shift in focus for Twitter. The previous homepage urged the visitor to share information, to tweet while the new homepage provides the user with several options to explore the combined information of its network. As MG Siegler of Techcrunch points out, “This way people who arent even Twitter users yet can search for things being said on the service.
