THV11 Anchor Says Retirement Can Wait

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

KTHV anchor Craig O’Neill had plans to retire—but that’s changed.

Instead of leaving the business, he signed a new contract with the Tegna station in Little Rock, Ark. General manager Marty Schack said he will stay on for another year.

O’Neil was hired as the station’s sports director and was later promoted to the news desk in 2000, where he remains today.

He said the reason he changed his mind is because of the station’s current creative momentum.

“I can’t retire right now,” O’Neil said. “Besides, from what I can tell, I’m looking younger!”

This year marks O’Neil’s 50th year in broadcasting. He started in radio back in 1969.
