News On 6 anchor Scott Thompson has signed off for the last time.

KOTV did not renew the longtime Tulsa, Oklahoma broadcaster’s contract after 28 years at the station, Tulsa World reports.

“Thank you all! I love you all from the bottom of my heart, and to the moon and back!”, Thompson posted on his Facebook page after his final newscast on Thursday.

Houston Hunt, vice president of marketing for the Griffin Communications-owned station, told Tulsa world, “we think nothing but the best of Scott. He’s incredibly talented. We’ve loved having him as part of the News On 6 family, but sometimes these things happen like they do in our industry and we wish Scott nothing but the best. We really, really thank him for all the years of service,” Hunt said.

Craig Day will fill the main anchor position at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
