Tucson Judge Seals KGUN Filing in Ad Rate Controversy

As this year’s election season was coming to a close–and TV viewers were breathing a sigh of relief that political ads were going away–a Tucson federal courtroom was dealing with political advertising from elections two and four years ago.

On Nov. 3, U.S. District Judger Raner Collins agreed to seal a filing by attorneys for Journal Broadcast Group, owner of KGUN 9, detailing how the station determined political advertising rates in the 2006 and 2008 elections.
