Tribune Will Monetize Social Media Content Through a New Share Rocket Platform

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Share Rocket and Tribune have reached an agreement to launch a new product called Monetize across all 42 local television stations.

The new platform will provide data to advertisers and allow stations to sell social campaigns the way they sell TV ads.

“The team at Tribune are pioneers in social media and monetizing their highly engaged audiences. We are proud to partner with them to provide the best solution in the industry to help them fully realize the value of their social audiences,” said Chris Kraft, CEO of Share Rocket.

“With Monetize we will be able to take advantage of our growing Facebook Live programming and provide significant value to both our viewers and advertisers,” said Michael Page, vice president, digital local sales of Tribune Broadcasting.

Monetize will allow Tribune Broadcasting’s TV stations to see exactly what their social audience and socially distributed content is worth in monetary value.

The platform automatically categorizes this new ad inventory based on the type and format of content.
