Tribune Announces New Morning Executive Producer for WPIX

Zev Shalev will join Tribune’s New York CW affiliate WPIX as executive producer for the morning news.

“Zev is a great fit for our news management team,” said Mark Effron, WPIX vice president and news director. “He has proven skills as an executive producer and a strong news background. I’m thrilled he is joining our team as we continue to evolve PIX11 News.”

Shalev, who starts at WPIX Monday, comes from Fuse Network, where he was credited with creating “Fuse News” the networks multi-platform news service. He was co-creator and executive producer for “The Nate Berkus” show and executive producer of “The Early Show” for CBS News. He has also served as EP for “Entertainment Tonight” Canada, Toronto 1, and CTV’s “Canada AM.”
