Tony Kovaleski Returning to Denver

Investigative reporter Tony Kovaleski is going to back to Denver’s KMGH.

Kovaleski left the ABC affiliate in 2012 to work at NBC-owned KNTV in San Jose, Calif.

Starting Nov. 30, he’ll not only be an investigative reporter for KMGH, but he’ll also develop Scripps’ investigative reporters as a corporate investigative trainer.

“This is a significant hire for Scripps,” said Sean McLaughlin, vp of news for the Scripps TV division. “Scripps recognizes Kovaleski’s unparalleled skills at investigations and sees the value he brings to both Denver and to fellow Scripps investigative journalists. He will conduct investigative training workshops across the company, helping other markets to produce the same high level of award-winning investigations.”

The graduate of San Jose State University has also worked at KNXV and KTVK in Phoenix, KPRC in Houston, KTVN in Reno, Nev., and KIEM in Eureka, Calif.
