Veteran news anchor Tom Sinkovitz is coming back to the San Francisco Bay Area TV market.
SF Bay Area media blogger Rich Lieberman broke the news last night that Sinkovitz is joining NBC-owned station KNTV as a contributor.
“I’m working on some stories right now–this is not a full-time job, but I’ll do some reports every now and then, but I’m very happy,” said Sinkovitz.

“Tom Sinkovitz is currently working with the station on special project reporting,” an NBC Bay Area spokesperson confirmed with TVSpy.
Sinkovitz has been battling stage 4 lung cancer. He left KNTV in 2011 after three years there and had worked in the Bay Area for nearly two decades as a reporter and anchor with KRON when it was the market’s NBC affiliate.
