Thunderstorms Knock Iowa Stations Off Air

By Kevin Eck

KLJB and KGCW in Davenport, Iowa were knocked off air by Tuesday night’s thunderstorms.

QCOnline reports microwave equipment that transmit the signal from the Nexstar-owned Fox and CW affiliates to their transmitters was damaged by the storms.

“The damage was significant enough that we had to call in a tower crew from out of town, scheduled to arrive at 8am on Thursday,” the station told viewers on its website. “Those stations will remain unavailable over-the-air until at least that time. Once again, we appreciate your patience.”

Both stations are unavailable over the air, but can be seen on Mediacom and DirecTV while KLJB can also be seen on DISH Network.
