Third Time’s a Charm: KMIZ Struggles with Super Bowl Text Update

KMIZ, the ABC affiliate for Columbia, MO, needed three chances to correctly update its viewers on the final score for Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The first text got the San Francisco 49ers name wrong, calling them the 46ers.

The second text (pictured) had the Niners winning the Super Bowl.

The third text said, “ABC 17 CORRECTION: After a few mistakes on our part – it was the Ravens over the 49ers 34-31 in Super Bowl XLVII. Apologies. You can see a screengrab of the texts after the jump.
