The X-Files are returning to broadcast Television. Twentieth Television and Fox Television Stations are adding original episodes of the series about the paranormal to the MyNetworkTV lineup in the fall.

After a 14 year absence, the show returned to Fox in January for a six episode season, pulling in 50 million viewers around the world.

“I think this was the fastest greenlight in the history of MyNetworkTV,” said Frank Cicha, svp of programming for Fox Television Stations. “The timing is just perfect.”

As part of its syndication, two episodes of The X-Files will air on a designated weeknight on MyNetworkTV. The show has also been cleared for weekend syndication on Fox Television Stations.

“As anticipated, viewers have truly celebrated the return of THE X-FILES and we are thrilled that fans can enjoy the original chapter of the monumental series,” said Greg Meidel, president of Twentieth Television. “The program is a wonderful addition to MyNetworkTV and the FOX Television Stations schedule; and in advance of the upfronts, an opportunity for advertisers to reconnect with one of television’s most iconic shows.”

If you want to watch seasons 1 to 5, it’s also licensed to cable network Syfy through March 17.
