For every new technology that is supposed to make our lives easier or better, or more interesting it seems counter-technology needs to be invented to prevent people from misusing it. Drones are no different.
In what sounds like a plot for an SNL Digital Short, Dutch police are experimenting with using eagles to intercept errant drones. The fear is that a falling drone can hurt someone.
“The bird sees the drone as prey and takes it to a safe area, a place where he does not suffer from other birds or humans,” said Mark Wiebe innovation manager of the National Unit of the Police. “We use [this instinct] in this project.”[Daily Mail]
