A reporter for Brownsville ABC affiliate KRGV has been arrested on drug charges, according to a story posted on the website of competing CBS affiliate KGBT:
McAllen police arrested KRGV-TV reporter Kirk Chaisson after he was allegedly caught with marijuana and drug paraphernalia Sunday morning.
Chaisson was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail after the arrest.
Details on how much marijuana Chaisson was in possession of were not immediately available.
The 54-year-old was given a $2,000 PR bond.
Calls were made to KRGV where station manager John Kittleman issued a statement saying it was an internal personnel matter.
According to a KRGV bio, Chaisson is an award-winning investigative reporter who has worked at stations in Laredo and Corpus Christi, and served as an anchor and news director at stations in Guam, Greenville, Huntsville and Las Vegas.
