Texas Anchor Says Goodbye to Be Closer to Family

Sometimes the job can take you to markets far from home.

For KTAB anchor Brittany Pelletz, Abilene, Texas, is little too far from Florida—so she’s announced it’s time to go back.

After five years Pelletz will leave her post as the main anchor and move back home.

“It’s a job and responsibility that I’ve loved and will always cherish. I’ll miss so much about Abilene and the Big Country, a place I’ve called home for the last five years, and a total of eight. I want you to know how grateful I am for all of the support and encouragement you’ve given me during my time as a journalist in Abilene. Seeking truth, keeping you informed and sharing inspiring stories about people in our community has been a dream come true,” she said during her goodbye.

Pelletz started her career in TV a decade ago at KRBC. She moved to Abilene, where she started a family.

“Brittany has been an integral part of KTAB News for many years. She’s been a guiding force for what we do and her shoes are big ones to fill,” said news director Travis Ruiz.

A national search is underway for a new co-anchor. Her last day is March 15.
