Mississippi Anchor, 34, Loses Battle With Cancer

Back in April, TVSpy told you about WLBT anchor Mike Sands.

Sands, who had been battling a rare form of cancer since 2012, has died. He was 34.

During his battle, his station reported on his treatment, and his co-anchor Mellisa Faith Payne and the community got behind him.

Last April, Sands left his post in Jackson, Miss.. to go back to his home state of Pennsylvania and get treatment. This weekend, the station reported that Sands died.
