Telemundo Orlando Adds Chief Meteorologist and Weather Anchor

Alexis Orengo and Jarymar Colón Díaz will join Orlando Telemundo owned station Telemundo 31 (WTMO) as chief meteorologist and weather anchor.

Chief meteorologist Orengo will debut on August 15, while weather anchor Colón Díaz will debut August 20.

“We are excited for Alexis and Jarymar to join our La Autoridad en el Tiempo team,” said Miguelangel Lopez, v.p. of news for Telemundo 31. “With these additions, our ability to deliver important meteorological information will be stronger—and so will our weather team, which is committed to informing our viewers of the ever-changing Central Florida weather.”

Orengo comes to Orlando from Telemundo 39 (KXTX) in Dallas, Texas where he’s worked since 2018. Orengo earned the American Meteorologist Society’s (AMS) Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation in 2019.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Colón Díaz is a graduate of Universidad del Sagrado Corazon where she obtained a BA in Radio Production and Marketing. She is currently enrolled at Mississippi State University, pursuing a BS in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology and expects to graduate this year.

She was weather presenter for RADIO WHOY 1210AM—and interned as part of the La Autoridad en el Tiempo team for Telemundo Puerto Rico in 2022.
