Telemundo Arizona Names Juan González Chief Meteorologist

Telemundo 39 (KTAZ) has added Juan González to Noticiero Telemundo Arizona as chief meteorologist.

This is a return to the Phoenix NBC Telemundo owned station for González, who worked at the station from 2016 to 2020. His on-air debut will be Monday, June 6.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Juan back to Telemundo Arizona. He is no stranger to our audiences; his return as a chief meteorologist will better serve our community and continue to enhance the Autoridad en el Tiempo Brand,” said Noe Gonzalez, vice president of news for Telemundo Arizona. “Telemundo Arizona has been recognized for having the most accurate forecast in Spanish by WeatheRate—and Juan’s leadership is essential to continue providing the best weather-related stories that impact everyone in our local communities.”

In 2020, González went to work for Telemundo 31 (WTMO) in Orlando. In 2015, he was a weather anchor for TeleCubanacan in Cuba.

Noticiero Telemundo Arizona airs Monday through Friday at 11:00 a.m., 4, 4:30, 5 and 10:00 p.m. and on weekends at 5 and 10:00 PM. Noticiero Telemundo Arizona is simulcast on Telemundo 40 (KHRR).
