Telemundo Station Group has plans to acquire 13 ZGS Communications, serving 10 new markets, pending FCC approval.

“Ronald Gordon, Eduardo Zavala and the ZGS stations have long been an important part of Telemundo’s success. We deeply value our long term partnership,” said Valari Staab, President, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.

ZGS has been a longtime partner of Telemundo. The company currently owns and operates an affiliate in El Paso, Texas and operates Class A and low power Telemundo stations in nine other cities.

“Eduardo and I are very excited about this transaction because our stations and teams are finding the perfect home to continue growing and serving the Hispanic community, which has been our mission and privilege for the past 35 years,” commented Ronald Gordon, chairman and CEO of ZGS Communications.

The first set of FCC applications were jointly filed for the El Paso, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Myers, Richmond and Springfield markets.
