Telemundo 52 Names New Morning Anchor

Telemundo 52-KVEA has named Alejandra Ortiz as the station’s morning anchor.

She will join weather anchor Michelle Trujillo, reporters Sandra Bonilla and Balbino Aviles from 5a.m.-7a.m.

“Alejandra is an excellent journalist and has been a great asset to the weekend news team,” said Celia Chavez, president and general manager of Telemundo 52 Los Angeles. “I’m confident that her expertise will help grow our market position and help our morning newscast become our viewers’ local newscast of choice.”

Ortiz has been the weekend anchor since 2017. She previously worked with the network’s sister station in Las Vegas as a co-anchor of Noticiero Telemundo.

Ortiz earned her bachelor degree in journalism from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. She isis tri-lingual and fluent in Spanish, English and French.
