Telemundo 47 Names New Vice President of Technology and Operations

WNJU, the Telemundo station in New York, has named a new vice president of technology and operations.

John Gonzalez steps into the role with more than 30 years experience as a photojournalist, digital editor and technology supervisor.

“John is highly-respected. He is an innovator, a leader and a mentor to our field technicians. He’s the best in the field and has successfully spearheaded our station’s transition to new, state-of the-art broadcast and transmission technologies with tenacity and resolve,” said Cristina Schwarz, president and general manager of Telemundo 47.

In his new role, Gonzalez will continue to implement upgrades to the station’s operational infrastructure and expand the station’s on-line platforms.

Gonzalez previously served as the director of technology and operations for Telemundo 47 for nearly four years. He has also worked as at director of digital media an operation for WNBC.
