Mike Redding has been named news director of TEGNA Austin, Texas ABC affiliate KVUE.
Redding is news director at TEGNA’s Maine station WCSH in Portland and WLBZ in Bangor. He starts at KVUE on Tuesday, August 16.
“Mike is a gifted storyteller and leader who has been awarded some of the highest honors in the field of journalism,” said Kristie Gonzales, president and GM of KVUE. “He has the vision and experience to lead KVUE news into future successes and grow our digital properties.”

He was named news director at WCHS-WLBZ in February 2013. He worked at WFMY in Greensboro, N.C. before that. He’s also worked at WDBJ in Roanoke, Va. and WCNC in Charlotte.
