Working moms at Tegna stations are rejoicing.
The broadcast company announced a new maternity leave policy yesterday.
Moms will now get 12 weeks of fully paid maternity leave. Prior to this, moms got six weeks full pay and six weeks half pay.
Female journalists who work for the company showed their appreciation to Tegna and the new policy on social media.
WTSP anchor and new mom Sarah Rosario said in a tweet, “Loving my @BrightsideOn10 team for sharing Reese’s birth. Also loving #tegnamedia for announcing 12 wks paid maternity leave! 🤗 🙌🏼Makes me proud to work for a company allowing this much needed benefit for families.”
