Tampa Weekend Anchor Says She’s Battling Covid-19

WFTS anchor Jasmine Styles has become one of the nearly 500,000 Floridians who have contracted Covid-19.

Styles, who anchors the Tampa, Fla., station’s weekend morning shows, says she won’t be back to the desk for two weeks as she recovers at home.

“I have to quarantine in my house to make sure that I don’t infect anyone else,” Styles said in a video about her diagnosis.

The anchor says she is mostly feeling fine, and the only major symptom she has experienced is loss of smell. “I am super blessed to have not had extreme symptoms,” she said.

Styles got a test and her results the same day, and that she has been contacted by a contract tracer. “I am thankful for the quick response,” she said.

She is the only person at the station that has been confirmed to have contracted the virus.
