Station Group Sues Comedy Prankster Duo

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Gray Television is suing a comedy prankster duo, according to the NY Post.

According to a report, the lawsuit states Nick Pruner and Joe Pickett, the founders and hosts of the Found Footage Festival, tricked WAEU‘s morning show into booking the duo pretending to be a “strongman duo” so they could promote their own act.

“During the live appearance on Hello Wisconsin, ‘Chop’ and ‘Steele’ touted their ‘mental strength, ‘Chop’ discussed the violent outbursts he was prone to while abusing steroids and his wealthy upbringing, while ‘Steele’ discussed his ‘body image issues’ and his impoverished upbringing,” the NYPost reports.

The Post says the suit sites another incident in which the Pruner promoted a fake cookbook on FOX6, the Tribune-owned station in Milwaukee.

Reports say Gray is suing Pickett and Preuher for copyright infringement, fraud and conspiracy to commit a wrongful act.

We reached out to Gray for comment. We will update when we hear back.
