Alan Shope is no longer sports director for KAKE, Channel 10.
“It was just a simple contract issue that we couldn’t work out,” says Shope, who had been at the station almost nine years.

Shope says the issue wasn’t monetary. “I was not asking for money,” he says. “I’ve never asked for a raise at KAKE TV.”
Shope is a Wichita native who returned here to be closer to his father, George.
