Spectrum Names News Director for Upstate New York Stations

Alexander Quince has been named senior director of news for Spectrum News in upstate New York.

Starting Monday, Quince will oversee the day-to-day news operations for Spectrum’s Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse networks.

“Alexander is a strategic news leader who embraces innovation and is committed to purposeful storytelling,” said Jason Pheister, vp of news and content for Spectrum Networks. “His knowledge of the New York market and passion for news will be invaluable as we continue to inspire and connect communities across Upstate New York.”

Quince comes from WABC in New York where he was executive producer. He’s also worked as news director at KTUL in Tulsa, Okla., assistant news director at WBMA in Birmingham, Ala., weekend ep at WXIA in Atlanta, Ga. and producer at WTSP in Tampa, Fla.

He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and has served as vice president of the New York Association of Black Journalists. Currently, he sits on the Florida State University Alumni Association National Board of Directors and is a fellow with the Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism.
