Some Quad Cities Viewers Miss NFL Playoff Game

NFL fans in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois had to engage their deep breathing techniques after a technical issue at KLJB, the local Fox affiliate, denied some the opportunity to watch the Green Bay Packers play the Washington Redskins last night.

“We are currently experiencing serious microwave problems on the KLJB over-the-air signal,” the station told fans on its website. “The problem is affecting the over-the-air signal; KLJB remains available on major satellite and cable carriers. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

In a hint that maybe Iowa is heaven, despite what Kevin Costner said while standing in a hybrid baseball and cornfield, one viewer took the station’s side. “I’ve been in the media for years, and when something like this happens, it’s not a quick fix,” he wrote on the station’s Facebook page. “Things happen either at the transmitter building or the tower itself, prob well beyond control. The last thing the station wants to happen is to be off the air and lose advertising revenue. Im sure they are working on it fast but remember, it is very dangerous work, high voltage. Just be patient.”
