Social Media Sharing Spikes In Wake Of Vegas Shooting

During and after the Vegas shooting, local stations utilized social media to spread the news and the videos posted have received millions of views.

KSNV’s simulcast of the shooting, when the news broke, has received more than 4 million views on Facebook. The Sinclair NBC affiliate streamed coverage on air and online.

KNTV, the ABC affiliate in the market, exceeded the million views mark as well. The station’s simulcast when news broke on Sunday night on Facebook has reached 1.3 million views.

FOX 5’s chief photographer, Ray Tate, put together a tribute video for the victims. The video has recieved more than 430,000 views and 5,400 shares.
