By Chris Ariens

Tim Fry, a regional sales manager for the Sinclair TV station group, was murdered Friday night in his home in Adren, NC. Police have arrested Robin Richardson, who also lived in the home, and charged her with first degree murder.

According to Facebook profiles of both Fry and Richardson, the two had been dating for about 2 years.

Fry joined WLOS TV in Asheville as an account executive about 15 years ago. He was promoted over the years to national sales manager, digital sales manager, and, about a year ago, to a corporate job as regional sales manager, working with about 20 Sinclair stations.

“Tim Fry was approachable, great with technology, quick, exceptionally organized and outgoing,” said WLOS/WMYA gm Jack Connors in a statement. “He was the kind of guy who would volunteer to help people on a weekend, discuss the Carolina Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday morning and pour through car and truck catalogs, whether he was in the market for a “new ride” or just kicking tires. His frequent promotions were a testimony to a terrific work ethic and a love of all things digital.”

A shotgun was recovered from the home which is just a few miles from WLOS-TV where Fry was based. Robinson will make her first court appearance tomorrow.
