A day after the FCC voted to loosen ownership regulations, Sinclair announced the acquisition of Bonten Media stations.

The deal, valued at $240 million, adds 14 stations in 8 markets to the 173 stations in 81 markets Sinclair currently owns.

“We look forward to welcoming the Bonten employees into the Sinclair family and are pleased to be growing our regional presence in several states where we already operate,” said Chris Ripley, president & ceo of Sinclair Broadcast Group.
