Veteran anchor Shepard Smith has reportedly agreed to a new, multi-year contract with Fox News. According to Deadline, Smith has signed a new deal that will keep him in the anchor seat for FNC’s “FOX Report” and “Studio B.”

An official announcement is expected this afternoon but Smith confirmed his new deal on an appearance on “The View.” In a scheduled appearance on Tuesday, Smith told the ladies of “The View” that he has a new 3-year commitment.

Smith has been with Fox News since its inception in 1996. He started at FNC as a general assignment reporter and garnered acclaim for his coverage of the 1997 death of Princess Diana. “FOX Report with Shepard Smith” is currently the highest rated newscast on cable.
