Sheba Turk to Anchor ‘The 504’ on WUPL

By Kevin Eck

Sheba Turk will take over anchor duties on the WUPL interview show “The 504” starting Monday.

The show, produced by CBS affiliate WWL, debuted in April after WWL announced it was no longer producing a 9:00 p.m. newscast for its sister station, the My NetworkTV affiliate WUPL.

Turk replaces the show’s first host. Melanie Hebert, who announced in July she was leaving the station.

“I host my first episode of @The504TV 9p, Mondayon WUPL!!! Follow the show here & on instagram & facebook xoxo,” Turk told viewers on her twitter page.

“I think the show will look and feel a lot different,” Bill Siegel, WWL executive news director told The Times-Picayune. Adding he was giving Turk and new producer Caegan Moore “a lot of leeway” in how they format the show. “Sheba and I have had a lot of conversations, and she’s expressed interest in doing different types of programming, and telling stories people wouldn’t see on TV.”

Turk joined WWL in 2011 as an associate producer for the morning show.
