Reporter and anchor Shaynah Ferreira has joined Philadelphia Fox-owned station WTXF as a reporter and fill-in anchor.

Ferreira has been working as a reporter and anchor at WTNH in Hartford, Conn. Before that, she was a reporter at WSAV in Savannah, Ga. She started her career as an associate producer at WJAR in Providence, R.I.

“Shaynah’s rich cultural experiences and her genuine concern for community issues have helped shape her passionate storytelling,” said vice president and news director Jim Driscoll. “We are confident she will now immerse herself in our 18 counties and find the stories that most impact our viewers.”

Ferreira’s last day at WTNH will be Aug. 5, and she will start at WTXF on Aug. 23.

“I’m honored to join the dynamic FOX 29 news team and ready to dive right into the communities, the culture, the food and the news in the City of Brotherly Love,” said Ferreira.
