Fox’s Seattle station KCPQ has dropped its old brand, Q13, and is now known as Fox 13.
The new name comes more than a year after Fox completed its acquisition of the station from Nexstar.
Station svp and general manager Sheila Oliver said the move brings the station in alignment with the other 29 Fox-owned stations around the country. KCPQ sister station KZJO, which is also based in Seattle, has also changed, going from JOEtv to its new moniker, FOX 13+.
“Our commitment to delivering high-quality, locally produced news and information will not change and we look forward to continue serving the great people of Western Washington,” said Oliver.
Along with the name change, all of the station’s news offerings have been renamed FOX 13 News. KCPQ FOX 13 produces 11 hours of local news each weekday and 54 hours each week, the most of any station in the market.
