Seattle Fox-owned stations KCPQ-KZJO have announced a change at the top.
Pamela Pearson (pictured left) will retire after 22 years as svp and general manager and will be replaced by Sheila Oliver (right).
“We would like to thank Pam for her hard work and dedication to the Seattle communities over the past 22 years, and appreciate her helping us through this transition,” said Jack Abernethy, CEO of Fox Television Stations. “Sheila, a FOX Television Stations veteran of both news and sales for nearly 20 years, has proven herself to be a leader who knows how to build high achieving teams that deliver strong results. She has done a tremendous job in Minneapolis and is the ideal choice to elevate FOX Seattle to the next level.”
Oliver has been with Fox Television Stations since 2002. She’s worked the last six years as senior vice president and general manager of KMSP in Minneapolis. She was the stations’ vp of sales for more than 10 years before the promotion to gm. Oliver has also worked as vp and gsm of KSAZ-KUTP in Phoenix, gm of WTVR in Richmond, Va. and at WCGV-WVTV in Milwaukee, Wis.
“It is a privilege to join another FOX duopoly and continue working with Jack and the entire FTS group, and I’m honored to have had the opportunity to lead the incredibly talented team in Minneapolis,” said Oliver. “I can’t wait to get started in Seattle and am excited to build on the successes of Q13 and JOE tv.”
Pearson’s retirement comes after a storied career in the industry. Before working as gm at KCPQ-KZJO, Pearson was the station manager at KTLA in Los Angeles. Before that, she was director of Creative Services at WGN in Chicago and at KWGN in Colorado. She started her career at Turner Broadcasting as director of promotion for what is now the cable channel TBS.
