Yesterday, a video went viral showing Australian news and weather presenter Amber Sherlock making a deal over Nine Network colleague Julie Snook completing the trifecta of on-air presenters wearing white just before they all went live.
Today, Yahoo reports Sherlock will meet with the network’s national director of News and an HR representative about the incident, which was leaked to website Mumbrella.
“It was hugely embarrassing and Amber will be demanding answers,” a source told news.com.au. “There’s no doubt that leaking such a video could be a sackable offence. It made one of their star presenters look nuts and petty.”
Yahoo reports both anchors have released statements to a women’s news network in Australia, 9Honey:
“Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times,” said Sherlock. “And as anyone knows, it’s never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends. I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live news bulletin.”
