Scott Heath Named VP/Station Manager for KSWB/FOX 5 in San Diego

CHICAGO, Feb. 18, 2014—Tribune Broadcasting today announced that experienced broadcasting sales executive Scott Heath has been named Vice President/Station Manager of the company’s San Diego television station, KSWB-TV (FOX5), effective immediately.  Heath will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the station and will report directly to Regional President and General Manager Don Corsini, who oversees KSWB-TV.

“Scott is a talented and experienced leader who has a depth of knowledge about the San Diego community that you can only acquire by getting out and talking to viewers and advertisers during  a 27-year career in the market,” said Corsini.  “He knows what works and the best way to connect with people.”

Heath joined KSWB-TV in 1986 in sales as an account executive and, over the course of his career, has held sales positions of increasing responsibility and scope.  He most recently served as the station’s general sales manager.  KSWB-TV became a FOX affiliate in 2008, and since that time has greatly expanded its local news programming and produced local shows including “San Diego’s Most Wanted,” a weekly 30-minute production in association with the F.B.I., which has helped to capture more than 185 profiled fugitives.

“I’m very excited to step into this new role,” said Heath.  “We have a great team here at KSWB and we continue to build something special with viewers, advertisers and the community.”

Heath is an active member of the San Diego Ad Club and the city’s Better Business Bureau.  He also serves on the TVB Executive Board and is the vice-chair of the Sales Advisory Committee for the FOX affiliate station group.  He holds a B.A. in journalism from San Diego State University.
