There may be a trend forming in morning news shows: daughters of famous Republican politicians becoming special contributors.

Not to be outdone by NBC’s hiring of Jenna Bush as a “Today” contributor, CBS’s “The Early Show” has named Ayla Brown, daughter of newly elected Massachusetts senator Scott Brown, a special contributor.

According to TVNewser, Brown filed her first “Early Show” report on Friday. On the broadcast, Brown covered the story of Jordan Romero, a 13-year-old California boy who is preparing to climb Mount Everest.

Brown was an “American Idol” finalist during the show’s fifth season. No word yet on how Senator Brown thinks this will affect his daughter’s love life.
