WTOC reporter Lindsay Gough is out of the hospital after contracting Covid-19.

The sports reporter in Savannah had been documenting her diagnosis, symptoms and recovery since she was admitted to the hospital in early July after testing positive with the virus on June 30.

On Monday, Gough posted a picture of her being discharged from the hospital wearing a mask and holding a stuffed animal.

“Going home,” she wrote.

Gough, who is 27, previously said she felt flu-like symptoms and then starting experiencing pain in her stomach. Ultimately, she underwent emergency surgery to remove her appendix while still fighting the virus. The reporter ended up on breathing tubes for a time. She was in the hospital alone because Covid-19 patients were not allowed visitors.

A friend set up a crowdfunding page on GoFundMe page to help Gough pay her hospital bills.

In her updates, Gough warned young people that Covid-19 can affect anyone.
